Retail version of Shelby GT-H approved!
Automotive News has revealed that the third Shelby Mustang in Ford's pony car corral will be a retail version of the Hertz Shelby GT-H rent-a-racer called the Shelby GT. The car will be a 2007 model and production will be at least a few thousand. No word if the Shelby GT will differ from the rental car in any way, either visually or mechanically.
Third Shelby Mustang to be released by year's end
Ford is keeping the 83-year-old Caroll Shelby very busy according to The Detroit News, which is reporting that a third Shelby Mustang following the GT500 and GT-H will be released later this year. Remember the Shelby Series 1? It was a modern day Cobra that spewed the venom of a 400-horsepower 4.0L V8 and was wrapped in carbon-fiber skin with a aluminum honeycomb skeleton.
